Dasman Diabetes Institute Hosts Annual Science Poster Day

The Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) recently concluded its annual Science Poster Day, marking the end of the 2025 summer internship program. This event, held on August 7, 2025, provided a platform for 36 university students and recent graduates to showcase their diabetes-related research projects developed during their three-month internship.

The Science Poster Day served as a valuable opportunity for young researchers to present their work in front of researchers, doctors, and staff from the institute. The event supported these students and graduates by offering hands-on experience in diabetes and related health research within an advanced scientific environment.

DDI's commitment to fostering local scientific growth was evident throughout the event. The initiative, launched by DDI and supported by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), aimed to enhance the research capabilities of students and graduates in scientific and medical fields. The goal was to inspire the next generation of healthcare and research professionals.

Dr. Faisal Hamed Al-Refaei, acting DDI Director-General, expressed his pride in supporting and nurturing emerging scientific talent. He believes that the participants represent the future of scientific innovation in Kuwait and beyond. Dr. Al-Refaei praised the quality of the presentations at the event, highlighting the nurturing and mentorship provided by DDI's expert scientific and medical teams.

The Science Poster Day was organized under the guidance of these same teams, who guided the participants through their research projects focused on diabetes and related health research. The event, being part of a broader initiative, reinforced DDI's prestige and its commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare and research professionals.

In conclusion, the annual Science Poster Day at the Dasman Diabetes Institute provided a unique opportunity for young researchers to showcase their skills and knowledge gained during their internship. The event not only celebrated their achievements but also inspired them to continue pursuing careers in healthcare and scientific innovation.
