Hear ye, hear ye! The Tomsk scoop is here and it's a doozy, folks!

Originally, plans called for building a world-class inter-university campus in Tomsk, spanning 55 hectares, with construction slated to begin in 2025. However, it was revealed in February that the initial project didn't abide by the rules set by the Ministry of Construction. Adjustments to the document were planned for August.

Now, there's been a bit of tweaking; the construction area has shrunk by about 30,000 square meters, helping to reduce financial investments in the project, according to sources. But hold up, let's clear up any confusion: this reduction applies to the size of the facilities, not the entire construction area.

Regarding the updated project after the adjustments, here's what we know:The Tomsk inter-university campus project, estimated to cost around 42 billion rubles (as of April 2023), is said to be the region's largest investment over the past decade. The project includes research labs, student dormitories, a sports center, and a multi-functional center with a fitness and swimming pool complex.

If everything goes as planned, the campus will be ready for operation by the end of 2027. The total floor area of the buildings will be approximately 192,000 square meters. Student dormitories will take up 162,700 square meters, the multi-functional center will occupy 15,900 square meters, and the fitness and swimming pool complex will cover 13,300 square meters.

Back in 2023, the Tomsk regional administration, "Granite" LLC, and "Gazprombank" OOO "Tomsk Student Campus" signed a concession agreement for the construction of the inter-university campus. Later the same year, it was announced that PPK "Single Customer" was brought on board to handle the project's design, cost estimation, and documentation, as well as to optimize the project's costs.

So, there you have it! Keep an eye out for further developments on this exciting project, and don't forget to check back regularly for the latest updates. Cheers!

With the modified plans, the Tomsk inter-university campus project is expected to witness a reduction in financial investments due to the shrinkage of the facility size by about 30,000 square meters. Despite this adjustment, the overall construction area remains unchanged, and the project still aims to heavily invest in education-and-self-development, finance, and the industry sector by building research labs, student dormitories, a sports center, and a multi-functional center.
