Aschaffenburg's 'Recharge - Show Attitude' Congress Aims to Heal After January Knife Attack

Aschaffenburg's 'Recharge - Show Attitude' democracy congress is set for Saturday, October 18, aiming to foster unity and courage following the city's knife attack in January. The event, held at Stadthalle Aschaffenburg from 9:30 am to 2 pm, is free and open to all. The conference, seeking to strengthen societal cohesion, will address challenges like division, hate, and disinformation. It will feature workshops such as 'Who may participate and why?' led by Mariam Grote, 'Stand Up - Shape Politics with Young People' by the Youth Council of Aschaffenburg, and 'I am not just what you see - Faces. Stories. Feelings.' by Migrants for Migrants e.V. The event will kick off with a welcome coffee at 9:30 am, followed by a greeting from Mayor Jürgen Herzing at 10 am. The Volksverpetzer will open the event with a keynote titled 'Stronger than Hate - With Attitude, Hope and Strategy'. Lectures include 'What holds us together when violence shakes our society?' by Dr. Donya Gilan and 'Recognizing and Countering Extremism' by Volker Sebold. The conference will feature two rounds of parallel lectures and workshops, offering diverse perspectives on democratic challenges and opportunities.
