Berufspaten Marks 15-Year Milestone: 3,300 Job Interviews Simulated
The Berufspaten project, a mentorship initiative supported by AGiL, marked its 15-year anniversary. This project assists around 300 young individuals, often from migrant or refugee backgrounds, in their transition from school to jobs.
Over the past decade and a half, the project has provided tandem mentorships, pairing young individuals with volunteers who act as gatekeepers, guides, and advisors. These mentors support professional orientation, internship searches, application assistance, and 'Fit for Job Interviews' training.
The project coordinators expressed gratitude to the 45 volunteers honoured at a celebration. First Deputy District Administrator Silke Engler praised their tireless efforts, patience, and dedication. The project, initially funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and later by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, has conducted around 3,300 job interview simulations since 2010, with 400 students participating this year alone. The coordinators now wish for more volunteers, preferably with backgrounds in skilled trades, health, or care, to join the local volunteering initiative.
The Berufspaten project, celebrating its 15th anniversary, continues to support young individuals in their professional transitions. With 45 volunteers honoured for their dedication and around 3,300 job interview simulations conducted, the project seeks more volunteers to expand its impact.
