The Rhön region invites you to join the 15th Rhön Hiking Day, an event filled with diverse hiking options for all ages and fitness levels, taking place on August 10th.

This year's event offers more than just hikes. An art exhibition featuring land art photos and artworks by the Junior Rangers is currently on display. Visitors can also engage with an interactive environmental station at the Rhön Environmental Mobile RUMpeL, courtesy of Michael Kirse.

For the youngest guests, there will be face painting, crafts, painting, and a button machine. Meanwhile, the Biosphere Quiz offers a chance to test one's knowledge about the Rhön, with attractive prizes such as star tours, guided hikes, or overnight stays in the Rhön up for grabs.

The Hessian Administrative Office of the Rhön UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is hosting an Open House Day on August 10th. While specific details about the Open House Day's program are not readily available, typical events at biosphere reserve offices often include guided tours, exhibitions about regional nature and culture, educational workshops, and opportunities to learn about conservation efforts. For up-to-date program details or specific activities during the Open House Day, it is recommended to consult the official Rhön Biosphere Reserve website or contact their administration.

The day's activities around the administrative office also include films about the Rhön Biosphere, an interactive environmental station, and a presentation trailer on Rhön mountain meadows. A family hike with a ranger on the birdwatching trail in Ritterschlucht starts at 11 am.

After the Open House Day, a visit to the Hilders Home Festival is worth it, offering regional specialties, a standing parade, bustling market life, live music, and a sociable get-together.

The Rhön Biosphere Reserve, a well-known UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1991, boasts diverse landscapes such as forests, moors, mountains like Wasserkuppe, Kreuzberg, and Milseburg, as well as lakes like Guckaisee, with nature trails, lookout towers, and visitor information centers that might be involved in public activities or tours.

So, mark your calendars for August 10th and join us in the Rhön for a day of exploration, learning, and fun!

During the event on August 10th, visitors can learn about environmental science at the interactive station at the Rhön Environmental Mobile RUMpeL. Furthermore, for those interested in education and self-development, there's a chance to enhance one's knowledge about the Rhön region through the Biosphere Quiz, which offers attractive prizes and tests participants' understanding of the area.
