Boeing Appoints Previous Pentagon CIO Dana Deasy as Its Upcoming Tech Leader
Boeing appoints tech veteran Dana Deasy as their new Chief Information Digital Officer and Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Data Analytics.
He reports directly to President and CEO Kelly Ortberg and will join the company's executive council. He takes over from Susan Doniz, who parted ways with the aerospace titan towards the end of last year.
Deasy held the highest tech position at the U.S. Department of Defense between 2018 and the conclusion of the first Trump administration in 2021. Since then, he's been involved in a variety of projects, including advisory services, board roles, teaching, and startups, interspersed with some downtime.
Before his tenure at the Pentagon, he led a significant tech transformation as Global CIO at JPMorgan Chase. He has held IT leadership positions at BP, General Motors, Tyco International, and Rockwell Space Systems, among others.
"Given the increasing need to safeguard against cyber threats and the growing influence of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence across all sectors, our IT team will play a crucial role as we strive to achieve our safety and quality objectives, deliver consistently for our customers, and prepare for the future," Ortberg stated in a press release.
