The finale of Great British Sewing Bee Series 11, which began airing on July 15, 2025, saw 60-year-old Caz from the West Midlands emerge as the winner. Caz, a recent retiree, impressed the judges with her exceptional sewing skills and creative flair throughout the competition.
The journey to the final was not an easy one for Caz. She was eliminated in week 2, but her determination and passion for sewing led her to return and fight her way back to the top. Her winning garment, inspired by the Pop Art movement, showcased her ability to push boundaries and create something truly unique.
Caz was not the only finalist who showcased impressive sewing skills. Yasmin, an R&D scientist from Gateshead, and Orla, a student at Edinburgh University, also made it to the final. The three finalists faced challenging pattern and transformation tasks in the final episode, including creating Trompe l'Oeil garments and making garments from multiple sheer pieces of clothing.
Yasmin, with her incredibly elegant orange tailored dress, and Orla, who pushed the boundaries of sewing and engineering, gave Caz a tough competition. However, Caz's creativity, precision, and attention to detail won her the title of the winner of Series 11 of Great British Sewing Bee.
Throughout the series, the contestants faced a variety of challenges. The transformation challenge in Episode 6 required them to turn maternity wear into playwear, while in Episode 7, they had to turn paint spattered clothing into an asymmetric garment. Fashion designer Victoria Jenkins, a specialist in adaptive clothing, joined the judges in Episode 6 to provide her expertise and insights. The pattern challenge in that episode was to make adaptive dungarees, and in Episode 9, the contestants had to create outfits suitable for a 1920s party.
Twelve home sewers competed in the series, with some notable eliminations along the way. Stuart, a premises manager, was eliminated in week 7, and Dan, a stage performer, was eliminated in week 6. Glendora, a bus driver and quilter from Luton, left in week 3 due to illness.
