Business school at Pearl Academy teams up with INSEAD XR for authentic immersive education experiences

Pearl Academy School of Business has taken a significant step forward in integrating Extended Reality (XR) technology into business education, partnering with the INSEAD XR Lab. This collaboration aims to offer immersive simulation-based learning, enhancing decision-making skills, emotional intelligence, and agility among students in realistic yet controlled environments.

The partnership positions Pearl Academy as one of the first Indian institutions to adopt XR technology for business and management education, reflecting a commitment to future-forward learning and innovation-led pedagogy. The integration uses high-impact immersive simulations such as "The Avocado Case" focusing on strategic decision-making, and "Mission to Mars" designed to improve critical thinking and collaboration.

Students experience these scenarios through VR headsets, allowing them to engage in dynamic, real-time business challenges in diverse, multisensory, and high-stakes virtual settings—from Zanzibar to Mars mission control centers—bringing real-world business problems vividly to life.

The outcomes of this partnership are far-reaching. Students can expect enhanced decision-making skills by navigating complex, realistic business cases. Their emotional intelligence is improved through immersive, interactive experiences. The development of agility to adapt quickly in fast-changing environments is also a significant benefit. Students' critical thinking and collaboration skills are boosted through teamwork in XR simulations. The partnership provides a transformational, experiential learning platform that redefines classroom business education by blending theory with immersive practice.

Pearl Academy's leadership has hailed this initiative as a pioneering step fostering advanced capabilities that prepare students for the demands of modern global business environments.

Rooted in a legacy of innovation and built on pillars like creative leadership, founder's mindset, industry immersion, and life skills, PSB continues to push boundaries in education. Effective from the 2024 intake, all students at Pearl Academy will receive accredited degrees recognised by the Government of India.

Following the success of the pilot, PSB plans to formally integrate immersive XR simulations into the MBA curriculum from the upcoming semester. The XR Simulation Workshop at PSB featured two cutting-edge simulations: The Avocado Case and Mission to Mars.

Pearl Academy has constructive tie-ups with industry bodies such as FDCI, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Brands Ltd., MAC, and international universities. The academy's School of Business is based in Delhi South, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
