Contenders for the Voting Lineup
Oberlin College Class Trustee Candidates for 2025 Speak Out
Several students from the graduating class of 2025 have stepped forward to run for the Board of Trustees, each bringing unique perspectives and passions to the table.
Sean Norton, an ardent supporter of the Oberlin Student Cooperative Association (OSCA) and cooperative values, is running to represent the newest generation of alums and current students. He is passionate about fighting the ongoing effects of financialization, corporatization, and profit maximization at Oberlin.
Jackie Brick, with a diverse range of experiences at Oberlin, including being a writing tutor, a memco in OSCA, a Ninde tutor, a Review writer, a Student Advisory Board member, and the leader of the staff appreciation thank-you note campaign, is also vying for the position.
Trevor Sebrane is interested in serving as Class Trustee to voice opinions about how Oberlin spends its money, particularly surrounding food options and housing.
Arrieanna Solomon is seeking the class-elected position on Oberlin College's Board of Trustees to ensure student voices are meaningfully represented in the decisions that shape the institution.
Orson Abram, a 2025 graduate majoring in Timara and Cinema and Media with an English minor, has demonstrated a keen awareness for Oberlin's surroundings and a contextualization for the sociopolitical environment that surrounds Oberlin. Abram has experience as a Barefoot Dialogue facilitator, a member of the Trans Identity and Experience group, and has brought acclaimed guest artists to Oberlin. They plan to continue bridging the gap between the Conservatory and College, advocating for neurodiverse and disabled communities, and keeping the art of student protests intact on Oberlin's campus during their next two years at BGSU.
Ania Ocasio wants to serve as Class Trustee to uphold the values of the class, including expanding support systems for first-generation and low-income students, protecting worker unions and cooperatives, and ensuring finances do not further the oppression and abuse of the Palestinian people.
Olivia Wohlgemuth is passionate about advocating for issues important to the class and the current Oberlin student body, particularly Oberlin's divestment from the Israeli occupation.
Jonathan Clark believes Oberlin profits off its culture of progressiveness and diversity while repressing its students' demands to make meaningful, institutional change.
Bryn Kearney, a recent Oberlin graduate who double majored in Environmental Studies and Economics, is currently serving as a NOAA Coastal Resilience Fellow. She is passionate about divestment and sustainability.
Natalie Dufour, a 2025 graduate who served on Student Senate all four years and played on the Varsity Volleyball Team, among other activities, has not yet declared her candidacy for the Board of Trustees.
