Deadline Approaching: Submit Applications for Princeton Research Day 2018!
Princeton Research Day (PRD) is an annual event that brings together undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and other non-faculty researchers to present their research work. This year, the event is scheduled for May 10th, 2023.
PRD takes pride in being a highly interdisciplinary event, featuring presentations on various topics, including medical research and costume design. The event offers researchers the chance to practice communicating their findings, attend professional development workshops, and connect with a diverse group of fellow researchers.
To participate, applicants need to submit their research abstract or proposal by February 16, 2023, at 5pm EST. Interested participants can choose from five presentation formats: a 10-minute talk, a 10-minute talk with a performance component, a 90-second pitch, a poster presentation/visual exhibit, and a video or digital presentation.
The application involves a short project summary written for a non-specialist audience. Participants may also need to provide supplementary materials such as a CV or statement of research interest, depending on the specific event guidelines.
For more information about Princeton Research Day, including the application process and deadlines, visit the "Presenting and Publishing" section of the event's website. The event's website also provides additional details about PRD and past experiences through blog posts.
In the past, PRD has featured presentations on costume design, as demonstrated by Julia Peiperl '17's presentation in an undisclosed year. Emma Kaeser serves as the Social Sciences Correspondent for the event.
To share the event with others, there is an option to share on Reddit or email a link to a friend on the Princeton Research Day website. There is also an option to print the information on the website.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, participants are advised to consult Princeton’s official event webpage, department announcements, or contact the undergraduate or graduate research offices directly.
Engaging in Princeton Research Day offers numerous opportunities for education-and-self-development, as researchers can learn new skills by practicing their presentation techniques, attending professional development workshops, and connecting with a diverse group of peers. The event while providing a platform for personal-growth and learning, also encourages innovation and exploration in various fields, such as medical research and costume design.
