Design Council to Host October Webinars on Design Code Pathfinder Programme
The Design Council has announced a series of webinars scheduled for October 2024, as part of the Design Code Pathfinder Programme. These online events, taking place between 14.00 and 15.30, will be hosted on the Design Council's website and are open to all local authorities interested in developing and implementing design codes.
The webinars, set for October 8, 15, and 22, will offer a unique opportunity for participants to gain insights from local authority Pathfinders and other key stakeholders as they reflect on their experiences in developing design codes. Speakers for the sessions include representatives from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Trafford Council, BPTW, Bradford Council, Mansfield Council, the Lake District National Park Authority, Medway Council, and Edward Hobson, Director of Partnerships at the Design Council.
The webinars will cover a range of topics, with a focus on creating and implementing design codes and standards, national design guidance, practical approaches to improving local design quality, collaboration between planners, designers, and communities, and innovations in design policy and practice to enhance place-making. In addition, each webinar will include a Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with the speakers and ask questions about their experiences and the design code development process.
