Some of the works featured are "Freedom" by G.B.Shaw, "The Mark on the Wall" by Virginia Woolf, "Film-making" by Ingmar Bergman, "Why the Novel Matters" by D.H. Lawrence, and "The Argumentative Indian" by Amartya Sen. Poetry selections include works by John Donne, Milton, Blake, S.T.Coleridge, Emily Dickinson, W.B.Yeats, A.K.Ramanujan, and Kamala Das. Short stories featured are "I Sell my Dreams" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, "Eveline" by James Joyce, "A Wedding in Brownsville" by Isaac Bashevis Singer, "Tomorrow" by Joseph Conrad, and "One Centimetre" by Bi Shu-Min.

The course structure for Class 12 English Elective is divided into four sections: Reading Skills, Writing Skills, Grammar, and Textbooks.

In the Reading Skills section, students will be tested on their comprehension abilities with one question worth 6 marks each for Comprehension of Unseen Passage and Unseen Comprehension Poem. There will also be one question with 1 MCQ and 4 very short type questions of 1 mark each for Comprehension Passage from Poetry and Short Stories.

The Writing Skills section includes three areas: Paragraph Writing, Report Writing, and Application for Job, each worth 5 marks. In the Writing Skills section, students will be required to do any two out of the given three questions.

The Grammar section is dedicated to Integrated Grammar, worth 10 marks. There will be one question with 8 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each.

The evaluation pattern for Class 12 English Elective includes a practical exam of 20 marks and an annual theory exam of 80 marks.
