Edo State Scholars 20 Benefit from OPay's N10M Scholarship

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration has facilitated a special scholarship initiative through the Office of the Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At least 20 students from Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma have benefited, each receiving N300,000 under the OPay National Scholarship Initiative.

The scholarship program, launched by OPay Digital Services in 2025, aims to promote access to quality education and advance SDG 4. It will run for 10 years, supporting undergraduates from low-income families across 20 universities.

Blessing Iyoha, a 100-level Human Anatomy student, expressed relief that the scholarship will help pay her school fees. Victory Eshere, a 200-level Biochemistry student, noted the scholarship will support her academic journey. Ms. Sally Suleiman, Special Adviser to Gov. Okpebholo on SDGs, described the initiative as a special achievement.
