## Collaborative Efforts Strengthen Dental Health Sector in China

Eastman Institute of Oral Health (EIOH) has recently embarked on a series of collaborative activities with institutions in China, aimed at advancing clinical dental practices and oral health care.

### Joint Ventures and Exchange Programs

Key to these collaborations are the visits made by EIOH Director Dr. Eli Eliav, Dr. YanFang Ren, the Chair of EIOH Diagnostic Sciences Department, and EIOH Director Emeritus Dr. Cyril Meyerowitz. The team traveled to Qingdao, Wuhan, and Sanya, China, to extend the Memorandum of Understanding with Qingdao Hospital of Stomatology, affiliated with Qingdao University.

In Wuhan, they presented lectures at the annual conference of Chinese dental practitioners, while in Sanya, they addressed the annual meeting of General Dentistry. These lectures provided valuable insights into the latest developments in dental research and practice, fostering a deeper understanding between the collaborating parties.

### New Appointments and Leadership

The collaborative efforts have also led to significant personnel changes. Dr. Li Wei from Qingdao Hospital of Stomatology was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Clinical Research Committee at EIOH. Professor Zhang Min, a leading researcher at Wuhan Dental Practitioners, has recently joined the advisory board of Hainan Province General Dentistry to oversee educational initiatives. Dr. Chen Yu, a senior clinician from Hainan Province General Dentistry, has been named a visiting faculty member at EIOH, strengthening teaching and research collaborations.

### Cultural Exchange and Innovation

These collaborations mark a significant step toward integrating cutting-edge research with clinical practice in China’s dental health sector. The exchange of ideas and expertise has enhanced cultural and scientific exchange, improving patient care standards and fostering innovation.

During the visit, the president of Qingdao Hospital of Stomatology gifted a traditional Chinese painting by a well-known local artist to the EIOH delegation, symbolising the deepening bonds between the institutions.

As these collaborative efforts continue to grow, the future of dental health in China and beyond looks increasingly promising. The commitment to leadership development and interdisciplinary cooperation is evident in the new appointments and the organizing of symposiums and workshops to disseminate recent findings and foster deeper professional connections.

For more information about each individual’s background, specific projects underway, or upcoming events related to this collaboration, please contact EIOH for further details.
