El Salvador Launches Open-Source Bitcoin Workbooks for Kids

El Salvador, the world's first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, is expanding its cryptocurrency education. President Nayib Bukele, a Bitcoin enthusiast, has contributed to the popularity of 'Little Hodler', a comic character set to teach children about money and Bitcoin. The Ministry of Education is collaborating with 'My First Bitcoin' to develop open-source workbooks for the upcoming school year.

The Bitcoin Office announced the development of two new workbooks featuring 'Little Hodler'. These will be open source, allowing other countries, particularly in Latin America, to use them for Bitcoin education. The initial pilot phase will test these workbooks in selected schools in Switzerland and Germany. The Salvadoran government, with the help of 'My First Bitcoin', aims to introduce these workbooks in January, following a planned expansion of Bitcoin education to all public schools this year.

Currently, Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador is slow due to insufficient financial and Bitcoin-specific education. René, a founding member of Blocktrainer and the Chief Operation Officer, is overseeing the strategic and organizational aspects of this project and enjoys editorial activities.

The introduction of 'Little Hodler' workbooks marks a significant step in El Salvador's Bitcoin education. By making these workbooks open source, the country aims to foster Bitcoin understanding not just domestically, but across Latin America as well.
