Fourth-Graders from Egersdorf's Rangau-Grundschule Triumph in Annual Bicycle Test

In the district of Fürth, Germany, the annual bicycle test for road safety education recently took place, and the 4b class from Cadolzburg's Rangau-Grundschule Egersdorf emerged victorious. This is not the first time Egersdorf's fourth-graders have secured the title, having won in 2023 as well.

A total of 1,156 students from 55 fourth-grade classes at 14 primary schools participated in the competition, which was organised by the Zirndorf police station. The practical bicycle test is a fixed component of the school curriculum, aiming to teach students practical cycling skills, road rules, and safety awareness.

The children's performance was evaluated based on their ability to participate safely and in accordance with traffic rules. The winning class received a monetary prize of 100 euros for their class fund, and each child was awarded a medal. The second and third-place classes, the 4e/f class of the Stein primary school and the 4c class of the Cadolzburg primary school, did not receive as substantial a reward.

The travelling trophy given to the winning class was filled with gummy bears, adding a sweet touch to their achievement. County Commissioner Bernd Obst praised the children's performance and the role of primary schools and their teachers in road safety education. The consistent high level of road safety education at Rangau-Grundschule Egersdorf was highlighted.

The competition results were announced and the awards were distributed, marking another successful year in Fürth's annual bicycle test for road safety education.
