English Australia's 2025 Conference: Themes, Speakers, and Awards Unveiled

English Australia has finalized its conference program for late August 2025. The event, to be held at the Pullman Hotel in Brisbane, includes a Welcome Reception, Academic Managers Breakfast, and a Gala Dinner with the annual ELICOS Awards. Details about the winners, however, remain unavailable.

The conference promises a varied program, featuring sessions on latest briefings, inclusive language teaching, AI in language classes, professional development, and adapting government policies. Notable plenary speakers include Marnie Watson, Jon Chew, Mike Mayor, Varsha Devi Balakrishnan, and Phuong Tran.

Sophie O'keefe, English Australia's General Manager of Operations, commended the program committee's efforts. The full conference program is accessible online.

The conference will culminate in a Gala Dinner themed 'Cocktail Botanica', where the annual ELICOS Awards will be presented. Despite the praise for the program, the winners of these awards remain a mystery, with no publicly available details found.
