Examinations for Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) begin throughout Karnataka
The SSLC examinations for the current academic year (2024-25) in Dharwad, Karnataka, commenced on Friday and are being conducted across various districts in the state. The Karnataka SSLC board conducted the main exams from March 20 to April 2, 2025, for around 8 lakh students, including those in Dharwad.
The SSLC Result 2025 for the main exams was declared on May 2, 2025, with an overall pass percentage of approximately 62.34%. A total of 524,984 candidates passed out of 842,173 who appeared. Provisional marksheets became available from the schools' login on the KSEAB website on the result date.
However, a serious concern has been raised by the Kannada Development Authority about the high failure rate of students, especially government school students, in the Kannada language paper. Around 750 students from Dharwad failed in Kannada, prompting the formation of a subcommittee to probe teaching methods and suggest reforms, with a report due in three months.
To ensure a stress-free environment for students and maintain security at the exam centres, senior officials are conducting inspections in Dharwad. The inspections are also aimed at ensuring infrastructure at the exam centres.
Looking ahead, the Karnataka SSLC board has confirmed that there will be no grace marks from the academic year 2024-25 onwards. The upcoming SSLC exams for the next academic cycle (2025-26) are scheduled between March and April 2026, with applications open from July 24, 2025, and deadlines falling between August and September 2025.
Students awaiting results are advised to check the official KSEAB portal and coordinate with their schools for original mark sheets. It is a crucial time for the students, and we wish them the very best in their exams.
