Funding for Increased Sustainability in Hamburg's Nightlife Venues

Hamburg, Germany, is taking a significant step towards a greener future with the implementation of the Future Fonds Hamburg funding program. This initiative, aimed at supporting the city's music clubs in operating more sustainably and environmentally friendly, is scheduled for the years 2023 and 2024.

Six music clubs in Hamburg, including Hebebühne, Uwe, Kent Club, Uebel & Gefährlich, Moondoo, and Fabrique, are among the beneficiaries of this program. Each of these clubs has signed the Code of Conduct 'Zukunft feiern', committing to a comprehensive sustainability concept with effective climate protection measures.

The Code of Conduct was developed with the support of the Initiative Clubtopia, Initiative Music, and the Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media. This nationwide code of conduct forms the basis for the Hamburg Future Fonds.

In addition to the music clubs, Hamburg's culture authority is also supporting local music labels. The Elbkulturfonds 2024, a separate funding program for the cultural and music scenes in Hamburg, will fund the free art and cultural scene, while the Future Fonds is focused on the music clubs.

The Future Fonds Hamburg has set up a coordination office for sustainability to accompany the implementation of the program. More information about the Future Fonds Hamburg and the Elbkulturfonds 2024 can be found on hamburg.de.

The issue of sustainability is becoming increasingly important to the visitors of Hamburg music clubs. By supporting clubs in their sustainable transformation, the Future Fonds aims to enable events to continue despite the energy crisis. Each funded club will appoint a sustainability manager, for which the BKM provides a monthly subsidy of 700 euros.

The Future Fonds Hamburg funding program is based in Hamburg, a major financial center in Germany. The seat of the Future Fonds refers to its location as a financial institution based in the city. With a total support of 140,000 euros, the program is set to make a significant impact on the city's music scene.

Hamburg continues to support cultural events, as shown by the Future Fonds Hamburg funding program. By focusing on sustainability, the city is not only preserving its vibrant music scene but also contributing to a greener future. For more information, visit hamburg.de.
