In August 2025, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will be hosting a women-only hunter education course in Sheridan. This comprehensive learning opportunity will take place at The Hub on Smith Street, and is designed to provide a supportive environment for women who are interested in learning about hunting.

The course will span three days, beginning on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 6 to 9 pm, and continuing on Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24, from 8 am to 3 pm each day.

Registration for the course is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis via online sign-up. The cost for the class is $15 in total, with $5 due at the time of registration and an additional $10 payable on the first night of the course.

The course covers a range of topics, including hunting ethics and responsibility, firearm safety, relevant Wyoming wildlife statutes and regulations, wildlife identification, game care, and outdoor safety. The material is written at a fourth-grade reading level, making it accessible to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

It's important to note that students 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the course. Attendance at all sessions and passing a final test are required to earn the hunter education certificate.

This course offers a unique opportunity for women to learn about hunting in a supportive and educational environment. Whether you're a seasoned hunter or just starting out, this course could be the perfect stepping stone to pursuing hunting activities in Wyoming.
