LOAN Foundation Aids 14 Vietnamese Students in 2025

German-Vietnamese writer Isabelle Muller, born in France and based in Germany, established the LOAN Foundation in 2016. The organisation supports ethnic minority children in remote and impoverished areas of Vietnam, providing scholarships and implementing community projects.

The foundation has awarded scholarships worth VNĐ20 million (around US$870 each) to disadvantaged students. This year, 14 students from Tuyên Quang province received aid for the 2025-2026 academic year. They join 401 others who have benefited since the foundation's inception. All recipients study at leading universities in Hà Nội and nearby areas.

Thò Thị Pà, a Literature student, is one such recipient. Despite her family's hardships, she aims to become a teacher. Dường Khôi Nguyên, a third-year recipient, credited the scholarship with motivating him to focus on his studies and give back to his community. Muller, who donates all her book royalties to the foundation, has seen her efforts reach 5,000 children directly.

Since 2016, the LOAN Foundation has invested US$1,774,160.25 across 48 projects in eight provinces. Muller's commitment to supporting ethnic minority children in Vietnam continues to make a significant impact.
