Marche Polytechnic University of Italy Establishes a New Campus in Kazakhstan
The Marche Polytechnic University of Italy has expanded its horizons, opening a new branch at Zhetisu University in the Zhetisu Region of Kazakhstan on July 16. The branch, named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, is set to address the growing demand for qualified agronomists and specialists proficient in digital technologies.
The opening ceremony was attended by Zhetisu Region Governor Beibit Issabayev, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, and Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Antonello De Riu. The ambassador stated that the cooperation with Zhetisu University is an important part of Italy's international strategy.
The focus of the new branch will be on academic programs in agriculture, food engineering, tourism, economics, and digital technologies. Joint double-degree programs in agronomy and agricultural science and technology are underway, providing students with the opportunity to receive diplomas from both Zhetisu University and the new branch at Marche Polytechnic University upon graduation.
The branch's academic mobility program includes professors and researchers from Marche Polytechnic University delivering lectures at the branch. Students will also have access to joint research projects and international internship opportunities. The regional administration has allocated 14 educational grants for students at the new branch.
The Zhetisu Region of Kazakhstan, known for its agricultural profile, will greatly benefit from this partnership. The launch of this branch is aimed at addressing a growing demand for skilled professionals in the agricultural sector. The cooperation aims to increase the potential of both universities, contributing to the development of sustainable food systems, tourism management, and economic sustainability.
The partnership is part of Italy's international education strategy, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties with Kazakhstan through academic cooperation and shared expertise. The opening of the branch is a real step toward strengthening friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy, according to Antonello De Riu. This move is a tangible move towards bridging the growing demand for qualified professionals in various fields, particularly in agriculture and digital technologies.
Students enrolled at the new branch of Marche Polytechnic University will have access to online education resources for education-and-self-development, furthering their learning in agriculture, food engineering, tourism, economics, and digital technologies. Joint learning initiatives, such as double-degree programs in agronomy and agricultural science and technology, will equip students with highly sought-after skills in these fields, contributing to the region's economic growth and sustainable development.
