Medical Staff in High Demand: Southern Russia's Salary & Vacancy Landscape
Employers in the medical field are currently facing a high demand for mid-level staff and specialists, while the Southern Federal District of Russia sees varied salaries and vacancies among its regions.
According to recent data, 48% of employers are seeking mid-level medical staff, followed by specialists with narrow expertise and academic degrees (37%), and junior staff and managers (26%).
Salary-wise, doctors in the Astrakhan region top the list in the Southern Federal District, earning an average median salary of 90,500 rubles. In contrast, those in the Rostov region earn the least, with an average median salary of 77,100 rubles. The Krasnodar region falls in the middle, with an average median salary of 82,200 rubles.
The vacancy situation varies across regions. The Kuban region, for instance, has a shortage with 1.4 resumes per vacancy. Meanwhile, the Krasnodar region has seen 8,300 doctor vacancies since the start of the year.
While salary is a factor, the shortage in the medical and pharmaceutical fields is primarily driven by workload volume, social benefits, and work environment, according to candidates' priorities.
