Wuppertal's AWG and ESW Offer Comprehensive Vocational Training

In the bustling city of Wuppertal, two major employers, the Allgemeine Wohnungsgenossenschaft (AWG) and the Evangelische Siedlungs- und Wohnungsbaugesellschaft (ESW), are making strides in shaping the future workforce by offering a range of vocational training opportunities.

AWG, with approximately 500 employees, offers training in various fields such as real estate management, building maintenance, IT systems integration, and industrial mechanics. Ioannis Kokkinidis is one of the trainees learning to be an industrial clerk, while Finn Peitzmeier is training to become an electronics technician for industrial engineering.

Similarly, ESW, employing around 250 people, provides training in property management, construction trades, technical services, and warehouse logistics. Oskar Röddel recently started his vocational training as a future specialist in warehouse logistics, and Sascha Grabowski, the Managing Director of AWG and Operations Manager of ESW, is overseeing these initiatives.

At the joint AWG and ESW site at Klingelholl, vehicle mechatronics technicians are trained, as well as specialists in warehouse logistics. The new trainees, including Joel Richter at AWG and Giovanni Canni at ESW, were welcomed with a comprehensive program that included tours of the facilities.

Both companies align their training programs with the established German dual education system, combining practical work experience with vocational school education. The specific availability of training programs can vary year by year based on company needs.

AWG and ESW are committed to making their vocational training opportunities more known, especially at career fairs, and value networking with other local employers. They encourage those interested in a career in housing management, construction, and property maintenance to visit their official websites or contact them directly for the most precise and up-to-date information on current apprenticeship openings and application procedures.

As major employers in Wuppertal, AWG and ESW are not only contributing to the city's cleanliness, winter services, and the operation of the modern thermal waste treatment plant (TAB), but they are also playing a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of professionals in their respective fields.

In the joint education and self-development initiatives at Klingelholl, AWG and ESW offer training in vehicle mechatronics and warehouse logistics, promoting personal growth and learning among new trainees like Joel Richter and Giovanni Canni. AWG and ESW strive to provide comprehensive learning opportunities in housing management, construction, and property maintenance, aligning their programs with the German dual education system for a balanced combination of practical work experience and school education.
