In the face of adversity, the strength of unity shines bright in Helmstedt. Olha Vasko and Kateryna Butok, two resilient women, spawned the "Ukrainian Association in Helmstedt." Originating from a casual Telegram chat, the group quickly transformed into a vital lifeline for many displaced families. Initially serving as a platform for crucial information on language courses, academic paths, and employment opportunities, the association soon recognized the need for more - for human connections, emotional support, and a sense of belonging.

For ten turbulent months, the association has been offering free programs designed to cater to children, youth, and women, regardless of linguistic or cultural origins.

Children find support with their math studies or school preparation, while women engage in fitness classes, conversational circles, and creative workshops.
