NSW Solidifies EdTech Hub Status With Twin Events

New South Wales (NSW) has solidified its position as Australia's EdTech hub, hosting the EDUtech 2025 Conference and NSW Department of Education EdTech Summit this week. With almost 40% of Australia's EdTech companies based in NSW, employing over 8,000 people and generating $1.6 billion in revenue last year, the twin events brought together thousands to discuss the future of teaching and learning. The NSW Government, through Study NSW and Business Events NSW, played a crucial role in accelerating education innovation by supporting these events. The summit showcased programs like AmplifyED, Export Masterclasses, and the Women EdTech Leaders Syndicate, positioning NSW-based companies for commercial success and international growth. International students, numbering over 328,000 from 180 countries, studying in NSW, are significantly contributing to the state's innovation economy. Many startups employ international students on visas, highlighting their importance in the sector. EDUtech 2025, Australia's largest education technology conference, was the centrepiece of the week, attracting educators, innovators, and industry stakeholders. Sydney has been confirmed as the host city for EDUtech in 2026 and 2027, ensuring NSW maintains its momentum as Australia's EdTech leader. With its robust EdTech ecosystem, NSW is not only shaping the future of education domestically but also globally, setting the standard for EdTech leadership.
