University of Giessen Announces Autumn-Winter Youth Education Workshop Program

The University of Giessen is set to launch its Autumn-Winter Youth Education Workshop Program, offering over 56 events for young apprentices, workers, students, and other interested individuals up to the age of 26. The program will be available online from August 18, 2025, at www.jbw-our website.

Councilwoman Frau Weigel-Greilich has emphasized the importance of the program, highlighting its role in providing opportunities for young people to gain new experiences, learn about current topics, or simply have a good time together.

Proven favorites like football seminars, pottery, self-assertion for girls and boys, 3D printing, and the 3rd Giessen Youth Congress are also part of the program. New events include "Music on TikTok" and "City Bound - Experiential Pedagogy in the City".

Other offerings include top rope climbing, screen printing, studio recording, municipal election 2026, and further training and information events for employees and volunteers in youth work. These events cover a wide range of topics such as addiction and violence prevention, sexual education, democracy promotion, flip chart presentations, Juleica training, and professional educational leave "Leadership and Management in Social Institutions".

The program also includes the event series "Remember, warn, be vigilant" around November 9th. This series features the city walk "Historical everyday traces of Jews and Jews in Giessen", the reading "The Boy with the Mouth Harmonica: From the ghetto Theresienstadt to freedom by train", and the information event "TikTok and Anti-Semitism".

The workshop is a recognized provider of educational leave, offering young participants the opportunity to explore Copenhagen for five days during the "Make it happen! - Green City Copenhagen" educational leave.
