The city of Düsseldorf, in an effort to modernize its educational landscape, initiated the Media Development Plan for school digitalization back in December 2019. This ambitious project aimed to equip all pedagogically used rooms in Düsseldorf with modern visualization technology by the end of 2023.

One school that stands at the forefront of this digital revolution is the Stettiner Straße Comprehensive School. Here, tablets have become a regular part of daily school life, finding their use in subjects like chemistry and geography. High-performance broadband internet and comprehensive WLAN coverage are also available, ensuring seamless digital learning experiences.

By the end of 2024, the Stettiner Straße site, along with 123 other sites, will see an expansion of their fiber optic infrastructure, courtesy of external providers. This expansion will also extend to around 2,000 rooms initially, with schools choosing between equipment with beamers, interactive beamers, or interactive displays.

In the Stettiner Straße Comprehensive School, 758 tablets are available for learners, and 63 for teaching staff. These devices are lent to children on a personal basis and can be used individually by teaching staff in every subject. The tablets' accessories must correspond to the usage in the lesson.

To support this digital transformation, a dedicated team has been set up to assist with technical questions and error messages. Schools were also surveyed in advance regarding their equipment wishes for the tablets.

The total costs for this equipment are estimated to be around 19.5 million euros, funded from various sources including the state capital Düsseldorf's budget, React-EU, the Digital Equipment Offensive for Schools in NRW, funding for official end devices for teaching staff at schools in NRW, and the immediate equipment program of the state of NRW.

While the exact digital equipment and infrastructure currently in use at the Stettiner Straße Comprehensive School cannot be confirmed from the available data, it is clear that the school is a key player in Düsseldorf's digital education drive. For more accurate, up-to-date insights on this school’s digitalization level, direct local education authority sources or the school's official communications would be required.
