Palatine College of Elisabeth von der Pfalz receives the title "Healthy School" recognition.
The Elisabeth von der Pfalz Professional College has been awarded the prestigious "Healthy School in the Wittekind Circle" certification. This programme, run by the local health department, supports schools in implementing health-promoting activities to foster a holistic learning environment.
Pascal Kramer, a renowned sports scientist and trainer in the "link moves" program, was present at the college to guide students through exercises designed to improve coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation. These exercises, particularly beneficial during stressful learning periods, focused on enhancing the students' overall well-being.
Teachers at the college also benefited from a health day that focused on nutrition, resilience, time management, workplace ergonomics, and individual diagnostics. The aim was to equip them with the tools necessary to maintain their own health and well-being, thereby setting an example for their students.
The college is not alone in its commitment to health and wellness. Westerenger Primary School, Löhne-Obernbeck Primary School, and the Erich Kästner Comprehensive School in Bünde and Kirchlengern have also been recognized for their efforts. Each of these schools has implemented at least three health-promoting measures and one measure for teacher health during the project period.
For schools interested in joining this initiative, the Health Conference Business Office offers an overview of local support services for "growing up and teaching healthily" in the Herford district. The office provides information about free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff, making it easier for schools to implement health-promoting activities.
Renata Lleshi, the project leader, can be contacted at 05221 13-2419 or via email at r.lleshi@ourwebsite. She is more than happy to provide information about the "Healthy Schools" program and how schools can get involved.
Health is a crucial prerequisite for successful learning, personal development, and social participation. By prioritizing health and wellness in schools, we are not only fostering a healthier generation but also setting the foundation for a more productive and fulfilling future. Schools play a vital role in teaching children and young people the importance of maintaining their health, as not all children and young people are taught this at home.
The "Healthy Schools in the Wittekind Circle" programme is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives in promoting health and wellness. By working together, we can create a healthier, more vibrant future for all.
