Palatine Elizabeth's Vocational College Honored as a "Healthy Academy"
The Elisabeth von der Pfalz Berufskolleg is among several schools in the Wittekindskreis region that have been awarded the prestigious "Healthy School in the Wittekindskreis" certification this year. The award was presented by Renata Lleshi, Nadine Passarger, and Patrik Kasparak.
This certification is a testament to the schools' commitment to promoting health and wellbeing among students and teachers. The "Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis" program, run by the Gesundheitskonferenz, offers resources and support for schools implementing health promotion and prevention activities.
To receive the certification, schools must implement at least three health-promoting measures and one for teachers' health during the project period. At the Elisabeth von der Pfalz Berufskolleg, students have recently explored topics such as eating disorder prevention, relaxation and movement, first aid, and healthy international cuisine. Teachers have benefited from a health day focusing on nutrition counseling, resilience, time management, workplace ergonomics, and individual diagnostics.
The heads of the additional schools awarded as "Healthy Schools in the Wittekinds Circle" this year have not been specified in the available information. However, schools like Grundschulen in Westerenger and Löhne-Obernbeck, and the Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule in Bünde and Kirchlengern, are also on the list of honourees.
Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist and trainer in the "link moves" program, was present at the Elisabeth von der Pfalz Berufskolleg for the certification. He led students through exercises that enhance coordination, concentration, and learning ability and motivation, particularly focused on helping students during stressful learning phases.
Local contacts for advice on "growing up and teaching healthily" can be found on the Gesundheitskonferenz website. The website also offers free individual and group offers for students and staff. Health is considered a crucial prerequisite for successful learning, personal development, and societal participation.
