Police in Poland: Proactive and Suppressive - Bochum Police Headquarters
The Bochum Police Presidency took a proactive stance in promoting road safety during the "Day Without Traffic Deaths" on September 18, 2020. A total of 70 measures were implemented as part of the event, which aimed to reduce traffic accidents, particularly among young people and novice drivers.
Reinforced controls were conducted on the day, checking for speeding, vehicle inspections, seat belt enforcement, penalties for red light violations, and phone use while driving. These efforts were part of the Presidency's ongoing commitment to ensuring road safety in the cities of Bochum, Herne, and Witten.
The statewide prevention event "Crash Course NRW" took place this week at the Christuskirche in Bochum city center. The Bochum Police Presidency participated in the event, which also included a traffic safety mile organized by the Bochum Traffic Safety Association. Around 680 trainees from various institutions and students participated in the event, many of whom were moved by accounts of incidents where young people died in traffic accidents in the area.
