In a significant milestone for our institution, we are proud to announce the renewal of our accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). This accreditation, which has been a part of our faculty, staff, and students' journey since 2001, underscores our commitment to advancing the quality of online education.

Our Professional Design institution has undergone three renewals of accreditation by DEAC since its initial approval in 2001. Each renewal has seen us pass the accreditation test and meet the increasing standards set by DEAC, demonstrating our ongoing dedication to quality online education and leadership in accreditation within the education community.

DEAC is a recognized accrediting organization by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. This recognition underscores the credibility and quality of our online programs. DEAC works with Federal and State agencies to provide consumer protection and a process for schools to evolve and improve over time.

The accreditation process involves regular evaluations by teams of experienced educators. These evaluations ensure that our institution adheres to the current standards of DEAC for online education. These standards emphasize comprehensive quality in program design, student engagement, faculty qualifications, technology infrastructure, student support, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key DEAC standards for online education include:

  • Clear communication of prerequisites, technology requirements, and expectations for student engagement.
  • Accurate representation in all advertising about the program’s use of distance education methods.
  • Transparency about all costs, including tuition, fees, and any additional charges related to online learning delivery, student identity authentication, and proctoring.
  • Orientation programs for students to acclimate them to the learning environment, technology tools, and assessment methods.
  • Availability and accessibility of student support services tailored for distance learners.
  • Ensuring faculty are qualified and receive professional development specific to online teaching.
  • Maintaining ongoing assessment and continuous improvement practices based on data-driven evaluation of student outcomes and program effectiveness.

These standards are integrated into DEAC’s evaluation rubric as an overlay to their existing accreditation criteria, reflecting a holistic approach to quality assurance in distance education delivery.

In addition to this, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Drummond to a voluntary DEAC Board role. Mr. Drummond, who has served on the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools since 2007 and was Commission Chair from 2013 to 2015, continues his long track record of service and leadership in accreditation. This appointment further solidifies our institution's commitment to quality online education and leadership in accreditation within the education community.

Online institutions in the United States have been pioneers in delivering a rigorous education in a flexible and affordable online platform. We are proud to continue the tradition of pioneering online education, ensuring our students receive the best possible education in a format that suits their needs.

We invite you to join us on this journey as we continue to strive for excellence in online education. For more information about DEAC's standards, please visit their official website or contact the commission directly.

Our Professional Design institution, in its ongoing commitment to quality online education and leadership in accreditation within the education community, has not only renewed its accreditation by DEAC for the third time but also appointed Mr. Drummond to a voluntary DEAC Board role, strengthening its stance in adhering to DEAC's rigorous standards for education-and-self-development and general-news. The accreditation and Mr. Drummond's appointment underscore our dedication to providing transparency, student support, faculty qualifications, and continuous improvement in our online programs.
