New Process Mentor in Landshut Offers Apple Support for Families in Need

In May, Janine Brabender took on the role of 'Verfahrenslotsin' in Landshut, a position created by the city to provide advice and mediation for families with children or adolescents who have, or are at risk of, disabilities.

Brabender supports around ten families with diverse needs, offering counseling and organizing activities such as crafting afternoons for these families. Her services extend to advising and accompanying young people up to the age of 27 and their parents or legal guardians.

Brabender guides those affected through the application process for various services, including early support, aids, stationary or outpatient assistance, such as school accompaniment or leisure assistance. Consultations with Brabender are free and confidential.

Brabender's extensive knowledge comes from her six years of work in the general social services department of the youth welfare office, with a focus on stationary integration assistance.

The Children and Youth Strengthening Act (KJSG), effective since June 2021, reinforces the inclusive approach in children and youth welfare. Brabender's support is in line with this act, aiming to promote integration and support families in need.

A diagnosed disability is not a prerequisite for seeking help from Brabender. She is available for consultations Monday to Wednesday from 8 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm, and Thursday and Friday from 8 am to 12 pm. Consultations can take place at the town hall, in various facilities, as home visits, or online and by phone.

Brabender can act as a trusted intermediary if necessary, offering a confidential and supportive environment for those seeking assistance. She can be contacted by phone at 0871/882316 or email at janine.brabender@our website. Consultations can be scheduled at www.our website/verfahrenslotsin for more information about the offer.

Brabender also supports potential claims for benefits in the field of integration assistance, making a valuable contribution to the Landshut community.
