NLU Delhi Reduces AILET 2026 Application Fee and Announces Full Scholarship for AIR 1 Holder

The National Law University (NLU), Delhi has announced a reduction in the application fee for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 and a full scholarship for the All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) holder in its B.A LL.B. (Hons.) programme.

The initiative to make legal education more accessible through scholarships and fee reductions is ongoing at NLU Delhi. This announcement is part of an initiative to make legal education more affordable for students.

The full scholarship at NLU Delhi for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme is awarded to the candidate who secures AIR 1 in the first year of the programme. This scholarship covers the entire tuition fee, encouraging academic excellence and making legal education more accessible.

The online application portal for AILET 2026 opened on 7 August 2025. Applicants must register and fill out the application form online, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee. The AILET 2026 exam is scheduled for 14 December 2025.

The AILET 2026 fee reduction applies to both the General and SC/ST/PwD categories. The fee for the General category has been reduced from ₹3,500 to ₹3,000, while for SC/ST/PwD categories, the fee has been reduced from ₹1,500 to ₹1,000. These reductions aim to make the application process more accessible to applicants.

The fee structure for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme at NLU Delhi includes an admission fee of ₹10,000, tuition fee of ₹1,56,000 (Indian Nationals), USD 6,300 (SAARC), USD 12,600 (Non-SAARC), academic services and facilities fee of ₹43,000, student welfare fund of ₹7,000, utility services fee of ₹20,000, and a refundable estate deposit of ₹25,000. The full scholarship for AIR 1 covers tuition fees, but details of whether other fees are covered are not explicitly mentioned.

It is important to note that the AILET 2026 fee reduction does not affect the scholarship for the All India Rank 1 holder in NLU Delhi's B.A LL.B. (Hons.) programme. Additionally, the fee reduction does not apply to any other law schools or entrance exams, as stated.

In summary, securing AIR 1 in the AILET exam for admission into NLU Delhi's B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme grants a full tuition scholarship for the first year, with a simplified application process involving registration, document upload, and fee payment with the revised reduced fee structure as above. The online application portal for AILET 2026 has opened from August 7, 2025.

Legal education at NLU Delhi is being made more accessible through the reduction in AILET 2026 application fees and the full scholarship for AIR 1 holders. Part of the education-and-self-development offered by the university, learning about law becomes more affordable with these initiatives.
