Seven Distinctively Accomplished Female Graduates from Our Institution

Our school's alumni network shines brightly in the music industry with a plethora of talented women making waves. From radio hosts to DJs, songwriters, and musicians, our graduates are ruling the charts! This week, we'll give you the lowdown on 7 fantastic female alumnae and their jaw-dropping careers.

Gemma Cairney

Meet Gemma Cairney, a broadcaster and DJ, renowned for her shows on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 1. Once a stylist, she honed her skills at our school and leaped into broadcasting. Her first job was with Channel 4's 4Radio service, and she's been killing it ever since. Apart from her radio career, Gemma is a music and culture lover, often integrating these passions in her work. She's a strong advocate for mental health awareness and uses her platform to support and motivate young people.

Monki

After mastering the fundamentals of radio at our school, Monki took over the electronic music scene with her electrifying mixes and vibrant energy on stage as a DJ. Known for her ability to blend house, techno, and bass-driven sounds, Monki has left her mark on BBC Radio 1. She's a favourite among both radio listeners and live audiences due to her ability to read the crowd and create an electric atmosphere.

Leona Lewis

You've heard of Leona Lewis, the powerhouse who won The X Factor in 2006. Before her rapid rise to fame, Leona fine-tuned her vocal skills with us. Her number-one debut single, "A Moment Like This," paved the way for an illustrious music career. Leona's strong, emotional vocals have earned her global acclaim, with hits like "Bleeding Love" becoming timeless anthems. Izzy Bizu

Nicole Moudaber is a DJ, producer, and label owner, known for her mesmerizing techno and house music. She honed her skills as a DJ at our school and swiftly represented the global electronic music scene with her signature sound. Known for her captivating live performances, Nicole has graced the stages of major festivals and held residencies at top clubs. As the founder of MOOD Records, she continues to shape the industry by supporting new talent and pushing the boundaries of electronic music.

IMOGEN

IMOGEN earnt her stripes in music production and sound engineering at our school and now presents and DJs. She's famous for her dynamic energy and keen ear for new music. With experience in both presenting and music curation, she's made a name for herself delivering engaging shows that span a range of genres and introduce listeners to emerging talent.
