Starting venture named 'Housing Conflict Aid' to offer assistance for women facing troubles paying their rents
In the heart of Gießen, a new project has been launched to help citizens navigate the complexities of rental conflicts. Known as Rent Conflict Help, this initiative is open to all residents of the city.
Located on Walltorstraße 3, Rent Conflict Help is a low-threshold, free service that offers neutral mediation and fact-oriented conciliation for housing-related conflicts. The project places a strong emphasis on early intervention to prevent escalation, aiming to improve the living situation of those affected by stabilizing rental relationships at an early stage.
The team behind Rent Conflict Help consists of both volunteer and full-time coordination staff. They work tirelessly to listen, mediate, and find solutions together before conflicts escalate. The project is closely networked with existing consulting offers, municipal institutions, social carriers, and specialist institutions, positioning itself as a complementary building block in a comprehensive support network.
Rent Conflict Help does not provide legal advice but acts as a neutral intermediary for conflict resolution and problem-solving. Monthly team meetings are held, including exchange with network partners, ensuring the team stays informed and up-to-date.
For those seeking assistance, consultation hours are held twice weekly, with an open consultation time. Independent, confidential counseling is available, and referral counseling for specific problem areas is also available at Rent Conflict Help. If necessary, the project aims to support people and, if required, refer them to other suitable specialist institutions.
If you're interested in getting involved, Rent Conflict Help is currently seeking engaged volunteers. For more information or to express interest, contact Mareike Bähr from the Department of Social Affairs at 0641 306-2061 or via email at [email protected].
Rent Conflict Help is committed to supporting people in their rental relationships, particularly those with social burdens or language barriers. By offering a neutral, accessible, and supportive environment, the project strives to make a real difference in the lives of Gießen's residents.
