The Global Creative Economy Council (GCEC) is a groundbreaking international initiative focused on advancing and shaping the global creative economy. This council, initiated by Creative PEC and the British Council, aims to create value through international cooperation, policy innovation, and connecting creative sectors across the Global North and South.

At the helm of the GCEC are influential figures and institutions that contribute to policy-making and strategic development of the creative economy on a global scale. Notable members include Marta Foresti (Chair), CEO of LAGO Collective, Professor Hasan Bakhshi MBE, Director of Creative PEC, and Anupam Yog, a creative strategist and member of the GCEC.

Other esteemed members include Kelly Wilhelm (she/her), Head of the Cultural Policy Hub at OCAD University, Sara Pepper, Co-Director of the Centre for the Creative Economy at Cardiff University, and Eduardo Saravia, Chief Economist at Sound Diplomacy. The council also boasts the participation of Andrea Dempster Chung, co-founder and executive director of Kingston Creative, an NGO in Jamaica, and Octavio Kulesz, a philosopher and digital publisher.

Avril Joffe, a member of the GCEC, the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Entrepreneurship and Policy, and a Research Associate at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, will also play a significant role in shaping the council's mission and objectives.
