Thomas More University initiates a direct admission partnership with Covington Latin School
Thomas More University and Covington Latin School Announce Direct Admissions Agreement
In a groundbreaking move, Thomas More University and Covington Latin School (CLS) have announced a direct admissions agreement that opens new opportunities for CLS graduates.
The agreement, which was announced by Thomas More University President Joseph L. Chillo, LP.D., in the presence of CLS Head of School Randy Dennis and the CLS community, will offer automatic direct admission to Thomas More for all CLS students who meet the university's admission requirements.
Under the terms of the agreement, starting with the class of 2026, Thomas More will provide a financial aid package totaling up to $30,000 per year for CLS students. This includes a $27,000 scholarship specific to CLS graduates (provided minimum admission requirements are met). Additionally, up to $2,000 in additional scholarship money may be available based on ACT/SAT scores, using a specified schedule.
Dr. Chillo stated that this agreement invests in the future of high-achieving students and removes the financial barrier to a Catholic Liberal Arts education. He further added that the agreement opens new doors for CLS students, providing them with an opportunity to pursue their higher education at Thomas More University.
Based on the 2025-26 tuition, students who earn the full $30,000 scholarship will have the same cost to attend Thomas More as their current costs at Covington Latin School. This means that CLS students who meet the admission requirements and earn the full scholarship will be able to attend Thomas More without incurring any additional student loan costs.
This direct admissions agreement is a significant step forward in the partnership between Thomas More University and Covington Latin School. It is expected to provide a pathway for high-achieving CLS students to attend Thomas More and pursue their academic and career goals.
