Tomsk Polytechnic University will conduct a Chemical Week for students of Tomsk universities.
Tomsk, May 26 - RIA Tomsk: A series of events focusing on chemical technology will take place at the Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) for students and postgraduates from Tomsk universities. The schedule includes a chemistry quiz, lectures on polymer recycling and working with cutting-edge scientific equipment, as well as an event organized by SIBUR, according to the university's press service, who announced the events on Monday.
The events are part of the II All-Russian Engineering School "HIMPROM-2025" intended for students participating in the professionalism Olympiad "I am a Professional" – the flagship project of the President's platform "Russia – the Land of Possibilities."
The Tomsk Polytechnic University will host a series of events in chemical technology for students and postgraduates from Tomsk universities studying "Chemistry" or "Chemical Technology." Registration on the website is required to participate.
On May 29 at 19:30 in the large Chemistry Auditorium of the 2nd building of TPU, the “Chemistry: Battle Royale” quiz will take place.
On May 30 at 11:00, a lecture by Professor of the Research School of Chemical and Biomedical Technologies of TPU, Pavel Postnikov, on the recycling of polymers will be held for students. Attendees will learn about evolving methods of plastic waste processing, ways to maximize benefit and profit from recycled materials, and address the question of whether polymers could replace fossil resources and become the new "black gold."
TPU has topped the RAEX ranking in Chemistry and Energy for the third year in a row. On May 31 at 10:00 in the Concert Hall of the International Cultural Centre of TPU, a panel discussion will take place with participants discussing tools for supporting and developing career trajectories for students. Marina Trousova, director of the Research School of Chemical and Biomedical Technologies of TPU, will moderate the event.
The week will conclude on May 31 at 12:00 with a lecture titled "How Scientists on Mega-scale Installations Design the Future?" in Auditorium 204 of the Main Building of TPU. The speaker will be Nikita Marchenkov, Chairman of the Youth Affairs Coordination Council in the field of science and education of the Presidential Council, Deputy Director for Projects of the Megascience National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute."
Immediately after the lecture, at 13:00 in the same auditorium, Marchenkov will meet with the Council of Young Scientists of TPU and Tomsk Region. Anyone interested is invited to join.
