Training young individuals to assume the role of school nurses within the Youth Red Cross program
In the vibrant city of Ingolstadt, the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) District Association has been committed to equipping young people with essential skills. Last school year, the BRK Ingolstadt District Youth Red Cross trained 71 committed children and young people in school first aid, indicating a high level of interest and commitment from the city's youth.
The training, which is part of the regular monthly group meetings held from September to July, is aimed at sensitizing young people to the topic of first aid. The group meetings, well-attended by school first aiders, are held to enable these students to initiate first aid measures quickly and correctly in case of an emergency.
The training provided by the BRK is focused on school first aid and equips students with practical knowledge. The voluntary group leader of the Youth Red Cross conducts the training, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
The trained students are now responsible for the school first aid service in Ingolstadt schools. Their role is of utmost importance within the school community, as they are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.
In addition to expanding the school first aid service, the BRK District Association Ingolstadt has also elected a new budget committee and a new board. The Youth Red Cross continues to actively engage in its mission, ensuring the safety and well-being of young people in Ingolstadt schools.
While the individual names of the trained students are not publicly disclosed, their commitment and readiness to serve is evident in the expanded school first aid service. The BRK's efforts in training these young individuals underscores the organisation's dedication to preparing the next generation to handle emergencies with confidence and competence.
