The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched the VLFM Success Story Book 2024, a comprehensive compilation that stands as a beacon of inspiration and a guide for India's industrial evolution. The book was unveiled at the CII VLFM Learning Convention and Graduation Ceremony held in Mumbai on 19 November 2024.
The VLFM Success Story Book 2024 features 34 compelling case studies from various industries, showcasing how participants of the Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (VLFM) Programme have applied its principles to achieve operational efficiency, innovative business models, and performance improvements. The book reaffirms CII's commitment to shaping India's growth agenda by cultivating a new generation of leaders.
The VLFM Programme, established in December 2006, is a unique collaboration between the Government of India's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC), CII, and premier academic institutions like IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and IIM Calcutta. It aims to address the need for visionary leadership in India's manufacturing sector.
The programme equips senior managers with tools to bridge the gap between shop floor operations and strategic management. Plans are underway to enhance learning experiences through integrated virtual textbooks and structured curricula. The scope of the VLFM Programme is planned to be extended to emerging sectors like defense, aerospace, tourism, and healthcare.
The VLFM Awards are being launched to recognize outstanding contributions. CII aims to introduce a standardized practitioner rating system. An Alumni Connect group is being established for fostering collaboration among 1,300+ VLFM alumni.
