Tree planting event with 100 trees and 500 flower bulbs, along with an environmental workshop, set for Biała Podlaska on March 17, 2025
In the heart of Poland, students from Primary School No. 2 in Biała Podlaska recently participated in an educational workshop titled 'Facts and Myths about Biodiversity'. The event, held on 17 March, aimed to combine education with real action for the environment.
The students demonstrated a strong understanding of ecological challenges, engaging in an ecological quiz to test their knowledge and gain new curiosities. The workshop focused on the topic of biodiversity and its importance in nature.
The highlight of the day was the planting of 100 ash tree seedlings and 500 flower bulbs. This hands-on experience allowed the students to connect with nature and understand the significance of their individual contributions to conservation.
Seeds were also donated for sowing when more favorable weather arrives. The workshop did not provide specific details about the seeds donated for sowing.
Workshops such as these are examples of experiential learning initiatives designed to engage children actively in nature. They foster respect, responsibility, and motivation to care for the natural world beyond the classroom.
Initiatives like the 'BeeCurious Curriculum', school gardening and green clubs, outdoor learning spaces and field trips, and environmental conservation projects, all emphasise practical tasks combined with educational content on biodiversity’s value to ecological health and human well-being.
These hands-on projects make the concept of biodiversity tangible, relevant, and inspiring ongoing environmental responsibility. The students in Biała Podlaska can now take pride in their contribution to the local environment and the future of biodiversity.
