University appoints Mitchell Rosner, M.D., as chief executive officer of health system
New CEO Announced for UVA Health
UVA Health has a new permanent CEO, Dr. Mitchell Rosner, who has served as the interim leader for the past seven months.
Dr. Rosner, a long-time faculty member at the School of Medicine, first joined the institution 21 years ago. He was appointed as the interim leader following the resignation of Dr. K. Craig Kent, who stepped down from his role earlier this year in February.
Jim Ryan, the former President, made the decision to ask Dr. Rosner to serve as the interim leader after Dr. Kent's resignation. The appointment as the permanent CEO was made recently, and Dr. Rosner has since taken on the role.
Dr. Rosner's tenure as the CEO of UVA Health is for a term of three years. Before his appointment as CEO, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at UVA Health.
Dr. Rosner's extensive experience with the School of Medicine and his successful stint as the interim leader make him a strong choice for the permanent CEO position. He is well-equipped to lead UVA Health forward and continue its mission of providing exceptional healthcare to patients.
The appointment of Dr. Rosner as the permanent CEO of UVA Health marks the end of Dr. K. Craig Kent's tenure at the institution. Dr. Kent's resignation was a significant change for UVA Health, but with Dr. Rosner at the helm, the institution is poised for continued success.
