Unveiling the Baristas at Your Leaky Cauldron: First Installment
Hellgate High School's Leaky Cauldron Coffee Cart: More Than Just a Morning Ritual
The Leaky Cauldron coffee cart at Hellgate High School is not just a place for students and staff to grab a morning coffee. It's a hub of community interaction, with baristas who are deeply rooted in the school's life.
Erin Berryman, Michelle Thornblade, and Rhett Hoff are the dedicated baristas who work the morning shifts. Berryman, who also works at Rattlesnake Elementary, finds joy in getting a little glimpse into the world of high schoolers. Thornblade, who hosts an exchange student from Spain, cherishes the opportunity to get to know other parents and see kids she knows. Hoff, a volunteer for Hellgate Band Parents, brings a sense of community to the cart.
Each of the baristas has a favourite drink. Berryman prefers a simple black coffee, while Thornblade enjoys a double shot latte with two pumps of caramel. Painter, who has a Junior at Hellgate High School, describes herself as "enthusiastic and boisterous due to the occasional caffeine kick." Sally Painter, who works the Tuesday morning shift, shares the same passion for coffee and connecting with students.
The student baristas - Mercy, Alice, and Cass - add to the welcoming atmosphere. Mercy, a senior and part-time worker, is known for her friendly demeanor and knowledge of the school's hidden history. Alice, a junior involved in the drama club, is outgoing and a favourite among regulars. Cass, a sophomore, is quiet but observant, often seen sketching scenes from around school during breaks.
With these dedicated baristas, the Leaky Cauldron at Hellgate High School continues to be a vibrant part of the school community, serving as a place where students and staff can connect, share stories, and start their day on a positive note.
Berryman, with two younger kids who will be attending Hellgate High School in a few years, is already a part of this community. Thornblade, who didn't start drinking coffee until she was almost 30, has two sons - one graduated from Hellgate High School last year, and one is currently a junior. Berryman currently has a son who is a sophomore at the school.
As the school year progresses, the Leaky Cauldron will continue to be a bustling centre of activity, serving as a testament to the close-knit community at Hellgate High School.
