The National Archives and Records Administration is hosting a series of enlightening lectures and book signings in December, offering the public an opportunity to delve into various fascinating topics. The events, which are free and open to all, will take place at the National Archives Building located on Pennsylvania Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets, NW.

On Tuesday, December 7, Adam Clymer will discuss his book, Edward M. Kennedy: A Biography. The discussion promises to provide insights into the life and times of the beloved Senator. For those interested in computer history, Charles Petzold will discuss his book, Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software, on Thursday, December 9.

The events will take place at Noon in the Theater, unless otherwise specified. On Thursday, December 2, David M. Kennedy will discuss his book Freedom From Fear, focusing on the Great Depression and the Second World War. This book has been praised by the New York Times Book Review as "an engrossing narrative of a momentous time, the best one-volume account of the Roosevelt era currently available."

The lecture commemorates the 200th anniversary of George Washington's death. On Thursday, December 16, Richard Norton Smith will discuss his book Patriarch: George Washington and the New American Nation. Richard Norton Smith, the Director of the Gerald R. Ford Museum, will be the speaker for this event, which takes place at 7 P.M. in Room 105.
