UST, Kaynes Semicon Join Forces for ₹3,300-Crore Indian OSAT Facility
UST, a global digital transformation company, and Kaynes Semiconductor, an Indian semiconductor manufacturer, have joined forces to establish a ₹3,300-crore ($400 million) Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat. Both companies' leaders expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, which aligns with India's 'Make in India' mission and semiconductor self-reliance goals.
The new facility aims to bolster India's semiconductor industry and support its growth strategy. UST's CEO, Krishna Surendra, expressed pride in participating in this initiative, while Kaynes Technology India's Ramesh Kannan and UST's COO Gilroy Mathew both highlighted the partnership's potential. Kaynes Semiconductor's CEO, Raghu Panicker, noted the combination of world-class manufacturing and digital engineering expertise that the collaboration brings.
UST will invest an 'unknown sum' in Kaynes Semiconductor, with UST's digital engineering, AI-driven process improvements, and real-time data analysis set to benefit the partnership. UST's global presence and semiconductor client base are also seen as valuable assets for Kaynes Semiconductor.
The ₹3,300-crore OSAT facility in Gujarat is expected to significantly contribute to India's semiconductor industry growth and self-reliance. UST and Kaynes Semiconductor's partnership, driven by shared enthusiasm and complementary strengths, is poised to shape the future of semiconductor manufacturing in India.
