Yale's Former President Peter Salovey Returns to Teaching
Former Yale University President Peter Salovey is set to return to teaching next year. Alumni have expressed excitement and gratitude for his decision to step back into the classroom.
Salovey, known for his dynamic teaching style and friendly personality, last taught in fall 2012. He is considering a seminar on the psychology of leadership in higher education and a lecture on emotional intelligence. Despite being dubbed 'Easy A Salovey' by alumni due to his leniency in grading, he taught 'Introduction to Psychology' nearly every year from 1986 to 2003. Since stepping down as president, Salovey has been involved in various projects, including an article on emotional intelligence and research on human jealousy and envy. He has also gone above and beyond to accommodate students with disabilities, even teaching one student one-on-one when she couldn't attend class due to a broken elevator.
Peter Salovey's return to teaching is eagerly anticipated by alumni who credit him with influencing their career choices. His upcoming courses promise to offer unique insights into leadership and emotional intelligence, building on his extensive experience and research in the field.
